Your Privacy Matters
Spider Browser is built with privacy at its core. We don't track you. We don't sell your data. Your browsing is yours alone.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account or sign in, we collect:
- Your email address
- Your name
- A unique user ID
Spider Browser supports three sign-in methods: Email/Password, Google Sign-In, and Sign in with Apple.
1.2 Browsing Data
Spider Browser stores the following data to provide its core functionality:
- Nodes: Web pages you've visited, their positions on your canvas, and connections between them
- Bookmarks: URLs and titles of pages you've bookmarked
- Browsing History: URLs and titles of pages you've visited (if enabled)
- Settings: Your preferences such as zoom level and appearance
1.3 Local Data
The following data is stored locally on your device and never leaves your Mac:
- Downloaded files
- Web page screenshots (for node previews)
- Cached web content
- Cookies and website data
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information exclusively to:
- Authenticate your account
- Sync your browsing canvas, bookmarks, and history across your devices
- Provide customer support when you contact us
- Send important service updates (with your permission)
We do NOT:
- Sell your data to third parties
- Use your data for advertising or analytics
- Share your data with anyone except as required by law
Note: Spider Browser stores your browsing history to provide sync and session restore features. You can disable history tracking in Settings → History at any time.
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Cloud Storage
Your browsing data is stored securely using Firebase (Google Cloud Platform) with:
- Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL)
- Encryption at rest
- Access restricted to your account only
3.2 Local Storage
Data stored locally on your Mac is protected by:
- macOS App Sandbox (isolated from other apps)
- FileVault encryption (if enabled on your Mac)
- Core Data encryption
4. Third-Party Services
Spider Browser uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google): User authentication and cloud data sync
- Google Sign-In: Optional authentication method
- Sign in with Apple: Optional authentication method
- Stripe: Secure payment processing for subscriptions (we do not store your payment details)
5. Your Rights
- Access: View all your data within Spider Browser at any time
- Delete: Delete individual items or your entire account
- Disable History: Turn off browsing history tracking in Settings
- Export: Contact us to request a data export
